look at her pinky!
Maddie has been coming to preschool for the last two weeks and slowly learning the rules. Her favorite work activities are the knobbed puzzles, using the huller to transfer pom-pom balls from one container to the other, hammering and scribbling on the whiteboard. She is so funny to watch.
Last week two of my girls got out the number rods and proceeded to play a game which they invented - they were putting out all the flags of the world, admiring them and giving them each a "spot" on the number rods (which are stripe and used for counting). I capitalized on their invention and gave them number cards to lay by their number rods once they figured out how many flags they laid out. Maddie watched them do this intently:
The next day, I observed Maddie carrying out the same work. She carefully got the flag container, the number rods and laid out flags for each of the stripes on the number rod. She was copying the girls!

I'm dying over her little pinky! And her look of concentration (and being so grown up) carrying that tray. What a sweet, smart girl!
