Day 220 Time to go home

Zane spent the early morning being passed from me, Allie, and Bro. Sloan (who took him and entertained him during our ward breakfast so I could help and take more photos of the goings-on, thank you!).  Bubs was such a great babe to take camping!

He got a kick out of "massaging" Lexi's back with his feet.  It made him laugh everytime he moved his feet on her back.

Day 219 Zane goes camping

Today was Zane's first overnight camping trip.  He did really well on the drive up. Luckily he now takes a bottle, so it was a lot easier for him and I while we were at camp.  Kevin and I were ward camp director/coordinators this year so it was busy for both of us even before we left to go camping. Once there, having a baby on my hip made it a bit difficult to help get things done, so Kevin did most the things -- and I handed baby to whomever would take him so we could set up the tent, and so that I could take photos of the goings-on at camp.  He is such a good baby though and did not fuss at all while we were up there.  He was fine as long as someone was holding him.  Lucky for me, he was fine with anyone.  He slept really well in the portacrib too, and woke up to nurse around 5 a.m. 

Day 217 - 218

I was so sick yesterday, I didn't get a shot of Zane until very early the next day (which, technically, since he was born after 1 pm, counts as a Day 217 shot!).  So here is Day 217:

July 21 - 23 Hidden Meadow Ranch

We had the funnest time in Greer this past weekend.  Our friends the Andersens invited us up to Hidden Meadow Ranch along with our other good friends the Lundells.  The weather was perfect - we couldn't believe it was 30 degrees cooler right when we got there.  I couldn't get over how nice the weather was.  It was a nice break from the the desert heat!  Our accommodations were ***5-star*** (I'd give it 6, if there was such a thing); we love that cabin! Each family took turns cooking meals for everyone, the adults spent lots of time connecting and the kids had lots of fun being with each other.   Add to that canoeing, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, etc. -- you can see why this is our kind of camping - especially in a 5-star mountain resort like this one.  It was hard to come home to the heat!

 The kids were up so early the next morning.  They quickly found the back door and played in the wrap-around porch and later made their way to the nearby woods to build forts.

 We walked from the cabin to the nearby bunk house that was stocked for fishing. Worms and all. This was our view of the cabin from the bunk house.

 Carrie made rice krispie treats and we sat on the deck - and handed the canoers treats, like a Row-Thru place.  I suggested that us three women go in a canoe but Lara said it was an invitation for the guys to come and get us all wet.  Agreed. It was much more fun taking photos and eating handing out treats.

This was Bubs after his meal.  Macey and Allie went horseback riding on Saturday, and didn't get photos since I stayed behind.

July 7th - 10th: Camping + Last Stretch

July 7th - A tasty lunch at La Jolla Groves with Scott and Jen Harrison + Preston.  We forget how much we have fun together! 

Later that day...Camping at Deer Creek.  Kevin and I took the baby home with us to the hotel, and the rest of my family (grandma beth and pappi, aireen, danny, jake, abby, and our three kids) camped overnight.  It was so fun to play card games, roast marshmallows and smell like campfire.  Wonderful weather, with a little bit of rain, but that didn't mess our camping - no mud! Of all the years we lived in Provo, we had no idea that such a beautiful camp existed only 20 minutes away!  And more pictures:

July 8th - Spent the day with Grandma and Pappi at the house.  Filipino BBQ!

July 9th - Spent half the day with family, then drove to Kingman to see my sister and her family.  You would think after 8 hours in the car they would be out.  Nope.  The kids, except for Maddie who started to run a fever after we got home, stayed up til 2:30.  I did too - chatting with my sister of course.

July 10th - Church time!  and lunch and more hanging out with the Dickersons - until it got too late and we had to leave to come home.  4 hours later at 9 p.m. we were home.   It was a good thing even though none of us wanted to be home because Maddie ended up sick for a few days after.  It would have stunk to be in a hotel room with a sick kid all week.
