On the 3rd Day of Christmas - Tablets of Stone

Timmy made himself comfy in the living room - sitting in the urn on top of the piano.

Allie hangs the tablets of stone ornament to stand for the Old Testament prophets (Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Enoch, etc) who prophesied of the birth of the Savior. It was fun to get the kids thinking about how crazy that would be if people from a LONG time ago knew exactly where and when they would be born, and what their name would be. Allie and Collin thought that would be WEIRD. But that was the case for Jesus, and how special He and his birth were because long before He was born, the prophets knew and told about it.

We briefly talked about Moses, who is the prophet associated with the Tablets of Stone, about how the Tablets of Stone represented the old Law (Law of Moses), which Jesus gave to prepare the people for His gospel - the most famous of which, are the 10 Commandments (written on the tablets of stone). Hence, I chose the tablets of stone to stand for all the Old Testament prophets. Whew, that was a mouthful.
