On the 5th Day of Christmas - Starry Night

The 5th Day of Christmas was quite a busy one! - A rehearsal and birthday party for Allie, yard work and a company meeting for Kevin, a photo shoot for me, and our ward Christmas party for all of us to go to. Allie dressed up as an angel for the program. So the outdoor Christmas lights will have to wait until Monday. It should be a fun FHE.

So the ornament for the night is the Starry Night (it's a piece of black felt with golden yellow stars) to stand for Abraham (another key prophet), who was promised posterity as numberless as the stars (or sand of the sea). You could use a bottle of sand, or a sand timer also.

We started off by asking the kids if they could count how many grains of sand were in a sand timer (we have these little small sand timers you get from the dentist's office). Then we told the story of Abraham and his faithfulness and test of obedience, and how because of his faithfulness, his posterity (us) was promised the blessings of the gospel and the Priesthood. Then Allie read a scripture about his promise, and played the piano for us too.

**Timmy almost didn't get his magic back today. Allie woke up early and slid down the stair rail to find Timmy and discovered he was still in the same spot he was yesterday. Kevin and I told her that maybe he was just late coming back from the North Pole. But a few minutes later, she went back and discovered him up in the dining room chandelier. She and Collin were so happy he has his magic again.
